MSC Committees

MSC has a number of standing committees of the Board of Directors in addition to annual work groups.

We encourage the involvement of members in these and look for particular skills in:

  • Governance and by law Development
  • Finance and Administration
  • Experience in running local clubs and the development of participation programs and a general interest and enthusiasm for the sport.

The following is a short description of the standing committees (work groups are established each year after the AGM and will be updated here after):

Nomination Committee:

The Nominating Committee will be responsible to solicit nominations for the election of the Directors.  In addition, the committee consults with the board and staff in the management of the annual elections.

Finance Committee:

The role of the finance committee is primarily to provide financial oversight for the organization in conjunction with staff. Typical task areas include budgeting and financial planning, financial reporting, and the creation and monitoring of internal controls and accountability policies.

Governance & HR

The Human Resources and Corporate Governance Committee shall support the Board of Directors in exercising its human resources and governance functions.  This would include the regular review of the by-laws and committees and the review of HR policies for staff.

Competition/Rules/Awards

This committee provides guidance and oversight to the National Championships; Reviews the FINA rule book and provides guidance and support to Masters Competition; Ensures the annual award process is followed and reviews the nominations for each category.
